When I buy groceries I like my food to be just that…good for me, whole, and natural FOOD, not food with a side of chemicals. Nowadays that’s what you get unless you posses a green thumb. I don’t. I buy what I can from local farms, but the rest of the time I’m dependent on grocery chains. For that reason, when I walk into a supermarket, I go hood, and channel my inner coke dealer.
I’m no fool, and when corporations try to pass chemicals for food, and lie to me and tell me its “all natural” I feel like they think I’m a mothafucking fool! Don’t be one! Just like a coke dealer, you need to take the time to make sure that what you’re purchasing is as pure, and whole as possible! If you’re gonna pay premium prices it better be premium quality.
Many of the brands that you see when you shop are not pure. For example, more times than not, whole grain bread that is marketed as “healthy”, ANDDDDD has a $5 price tag higher than the generic brand, is actually maybe 75% whole grain, and the rest a combination of processed flours and components. That shit is not pure! It’s been cut with crap!
Next time you pick up a food product, check out the ingredient list. You’ll see they’re cut with most of the following: carrageenan (causes cancer), soy lecithin (causes too much bad shit to list so just read it here), natural flavors, (cat urine is a natural flavor), aspartame, (brain tumors anyone?), artificial colors (triggers ADHD in children), dextrose (gmo) and that’s just to name a few. Stay away from any brands or products that are cut with chemicals. Why pay for fake, disease inducing, food-like products, and make money-hungry-whore companies even richer? Fuck ‘em!
In order to minimize your ingestion of chemicals, preservatives, additives, and toxins that slowly sicken and kill you, you have to be diligent about what you buy. Haven’t you seen on tv how the drug dealers always choose the superior drugs? The best, and most pure quality of all? Well you’re going to do the same thing. But for groceries, not drugs. Its time to become a label reading baller, and choose only the superior products.
You vote with your dollars. Stop spending money on products full of gmo’s, artificial flavors, carcinogens, and additives. Vote with your dollars and choose only brands and ingredients of the purest quality. Your body is NOT a garbage disposal. You can’t just keep shoving junk after junk down your throat and think that it will never catch up to you. It WILL! Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe in 20 years. It’s only a matter of time. Treat your body like a science experiment and you will suffer consequences from letting corrupt brands experiment on you.
2 tips to keep in mind when reading labels
When you purchase a product, it shouldn’t take you 10 minutes to read the list of ingredients, and you shouldn’t have to sound out an ingredient. Food is food. When a product is truly natural and good for you, you’ll be able to look at the ingredient list, take 10 seconds to read it, and easily recognize what all the ingredients are. No complicated words, no shady elements.
When you grocery shop always read the labels of whatever you’re buying. PERIOD. If it has more than 5 ingredients put it back (especially if you have no idea what those ingredients are), if you can’t pronounce the long ass list of ingredients, put it back.
You only get ONE body. You have to take care of it if you want it to last you a lifetime. Most of you are not responsible just for your well-being, but also for the well-being of your family. What you feed them will either enhance their health, or cripple it.
Remember, you vote with your dollars; don’t contribute to the growth of corrupt food corporations. Support local farmers, mom and pop brands, mommy based businesses, and brands that are trying to change the world for the better. The next time you go grocery shopping, dealer up, and only choose products that are superior and pure in quality.
